Albania attracts foreign property buyers
Overseas property buyers are increasingly being drawn towards the Albanian market, experts have revealed.
According to the Global Property Guide, the eastern European country is emerging as a hotspot of activity among foreign investors.
The publication said a period of "catch-up" has started to take place now that it is enjoying greater political stability.
Spokesperson Matthew Montagu-Pollock believes the interest is partly due to the fact that the country offers a variety of lifestyle and financial benefits.
He commented: "Albania is sunny, it is on the coast of mainland Europe, it is beautiful, and it is still cheap."
Mr Montagu-Pollock added that Albania's history as a communist nation had led to it being off the map "for many years".
According to the BuyAssociation website, house prices in the eastern European nation are relatively low in comparison with many other countries.
The online portal added that Albania also offers a number of other attractions, such as picturesque scenery and a growing tourist sector.
