Airport expansion set to boost Spanish property market

Spain's property market could be in line for a further boost with the expansion of 2 of its airports.

Plans to build a second runway at San Javier Airport in Murcia have been approved, meaning that the local property market could see a surge of interest.

Investors in Almeria could also benefit from the new development, as the number of services to its local airport has recently been reduced.

However, property owners in the area have been advised to install soundproofing to negate the impact of the increased air traffic.

Meanwhile, the property market in Malaga is also set to benefit from greater accessibility, as its airport will similarly get a second runway.

The construction work is expected to be completed by the end of 2009, prompting experts to predict that Malaga will be one of the major property hotspots in 2010.
