Airline launches new budget flights to the Algarve from Manchester

New services running between Faro in Portugal's Algarve and Manchester have been launched by a budget airline.

Thomsonfly revealed the introduction of five services per week from Manchester to the Algarve for a one-way price of £29.99, including tax and charges - something that could prove of interest to prospective property investors in the region.

A statement from the company explained: "The capital city of the Algarve, Faro is a great base from which to explore all the cultural and historic background of the southern part of Portugal."

The company added that there is "plenty to keep the visitor amused", thanks to its "bustling" nature and historic Roman walls that form the Old City.

Additionally, Faro's convenient location and strong shopping and dining facilities add to its attraction, Thomsonfly concluded.

The news follows the launch of Thomsonfly flights between Manchester and Dubrovnik, also running five times a week.

Earlier this week, Thomsonfly's parent company, TUI, announced the purchase of 11 fuel-efficient Boeing 787s, as well as 50 next-generation 737s.
