Airline announces Croatia service
A low-cost airline has announced the launch of a new service between the UK and the Croatian city Dubrovnik.
Flyglobespan will offer direct passage to the destination from Edinburgh Airport, potentially boosting the tourist trade in the area, reports BBC News.
This comes after the carrier started offering flights to the city of Pula, a move that was deemed a success.
Commenting on the new service, Flyglobespan chairman Tom Dalrymple said: "I am confident that Croatia will continue to be an attractive destination for holidaymakers."
The increased accessibility to the region should also add to the investment potential of the city, which was described by Edinburgh Airport as one of the most beautiful and ancient in Europe.
A spokesman for the portal added that Croatia was likely to be a fast-growing market in 2008.
This comes after the American Automobile Association reported a 69 per cent increase in the number of bookings from US tourists in Croatia this year.
