Access to Spain increases
Britons now have more routes into Spain, following the announcement by airline bmibaby that it is to start new flights to Madrid and Barcelona.
The carrier indicated that a brand new route to the Spanish capital will be launched on June 16th 2008 from Manchester Airport, while the company will operate flights to the Catalan capital four times per week from the same hub in September.
With increased access to Spain from Great Britain, there may more opportunities for those with overseas property to attract interest in their developments.
The airline is also set to begin a new route from Manchester to the Portuguese capital of Lisbon. This comes after Ryanair announced earlier this month that it is establishing a base in Reus, Barcelona.
Crawford Rix, managing director of bmibaby, said: "I am pleased that bmibaby will offer two brand new destinations from Manchester to Lisbon and Madrid, both routes are currently not served from the airport."
He added that the new Barcelona service is "great news" for anyone looking for a cheap trip abroad.
