2009 'could be year for overseas property bargains'
Prospective overseas property investors have been advised to seek out bargains made possible by current market conditions.
Shelter Offshore claims that buyers looking at foreign property should "get in ahead of the pack" by making an offer before the market begins to pick up and prices start to rise.
According to the website, this advice applies to Spanish property in particular, as the market continues to attract widespread interest from investors who are afraid to take the plunge in the current economic climate.
The property portal explains: "If you're a buyer and you want to make a move at a point when you can still bag a handsome bargain but have the maximum interest of the vendor and have your pick of the property stock, 2009 could be the perfect year for you to pounce."
A recent survey from Homes Overseas and Barclays found that Spain would be the preferred location of an overseas property for 24.9% of people in the UK.
