Alternative Investments

Recently we have been concentrating on finding investment products for you that have a wide range of entry levels, healthy returns and strong track records. Alternative investments make perfect sense to us right now. As a global population our consumption of natural resources is huge, so it makes sense to start looking into products and materials where productivity needs to be increased massively to cope with the huge levels of demand, both now and in the future. Many of these products may be taken through a personal pension.

We have also started sourcing products that are a little bit different to the norm, such as investment in British films.

Take a look below to see our alternative products.

Turkey

Turkey has one of the most open, dynamic and internationally integrated economies in its region. The country looks set to either join or closely converge with the EU by 2015 – a situation that traditionally pushes up investment property prices.

Turkey rsquo;s population is growing by 2% per year. Seventy per cent of the population is now under 30 leaving Turkey with a severe housing shortage. The recent arrival of mortgages has led to another increase in investment property prices as Turks and foreigners take advantage of the new finance options.

With over 300 days of sunshine a year Turkey is a hugely popular destination for tourists who increase the rental demand for quality investment property. It’s no surprise that many comparisons are being drawn between Turkey’s investment property market and that of Spain 20 years ago.

Portugal

Portugal is a stable, low-risk overseas investment property location, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t opportunities to profit from property in this ever-popular country. Channel 4’s A Place In The Sun listed Portugal as one of their top investment property options for the next decade with a potential 360% return.

The favourable year-round climate, wide sandy beaches and excellent golf facilities ensure solid rental returns for investors from holidaymakers throughout the year. Travel and tourism as a whole contribute over €30.6bn to Portugal’s economy while strict planning laws continue to limit the supply of quality new-build property keeping demand and prices high – a winning off plan investment property combination.

Argentina

The Republic of Argentina stretches 4,000km from Bolivia in the north to the very tip of South America, taking in the Yunga rainforests, the arid plains of the Andes and the Perito Moreno Glacier on the way.

Thanks to an agricultural export led economy Argentina was once one of the wealthiest and most powerful countries in the world. But decades of political unrest increased the country’s vulnerability and Argentina was hit hard by a series of external financial crises that sent the country into recession. Thanks to the leadership of President Néstor Kirchner, Argentina has restructured its debt and paid off all existing loans from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) totalling more than $100 billion. Taking advantage of previously subdued industrial capacity and labour, GDP has recovered remarkably quickly to grow annually by approximately 8-9% over the last five years.
